The 3D Printed Flexi Dinosaur

This articulated, 3D-printed dinosaur is more than just a toy. Its unique design allows it to bend, wiggle, and flex, making it a perfect example of a print-in-place model.The magic of print-in-place models lies in the design of their joints. The 3D model is designed with carefully placed tiny gaps—typically around 0.3mm—between the segments of the dinosaur.When the 3D printer lays down the plastic filament layer by layer, it builds the entire structure at once. The gaps are small enough that the plastic from one segment doesn't fuse with the next, but large enough to allow for free movement. When the print is finished and you remove it from the printer bed, the joints are already functional, allowing the dinosaur to flex and move immediately.
